As 2016 comes to a close, I’d like to focus on a tradition that many Americans hold sacred… the new year’s resolution. And what would a new year’s resolution be without the occasional promise of losing weight, getting into shape, or just simply, joining a gym?

But which gym do you choose? A big box gym with all the amenities, the newest classes, a coffee bar, pool, and daycare?  Or a small studio where you get personalized attention, the most out of every penny you spend, and real results?

To help many of you with this well-intended, self-betterment goal of yours, I asked a few friends of mine to elaborate on the benefits of both a big box gym and a small studio gym.

Today we start with an overview of the two in the infographic above.

In the next post, we’ll take a close look at the story of a small studio.

And right before you all disappear for ham, and Santa, the epic tale of your local big box gym.

Hopefully by the time January 1st rolls around you’ll have a better idea of which gym best fits your needs and personality.  After all, if you are going to the right place for the right reasons, your more likely to stick with it. Improving your health is, after all, a great goal (I mean, resolution.)
